Happy freakin’ new year my loves! I hope everyone had a super fun and safe time last night! I continued the tradition and celebrated with Cali’s family for the 6th year (crazy right??). We ate good food, hit a pinata, and lit sparklers!! But, believe me, I was daydreaming about cuddling with Lucy. It was sooooooo cold. Like, high 40s cold (read that in a Californian accent lmao).

So, new year new me, right?! I know a lot of people think that you don’t need a new year to work on yourself, but I have a little bit of a different mindset. I like to think that this is the perfect opportunity to reflect and grow. Some people need a little more of a push than others, so what greater time to start than with a new beginning? Let’s start with giving ourselves some realistic resolutions..

TAKE ADVANTAGE OF MORE OPPORTUNITIES

In 2018, I really focused on taking care of myself. My priority, for the first time ever, was to focus on me. Hands down, the best decision I have ever made!! I’m so much more confident, happy, and especially, a lot more positive. These characteristics will definitely play a huge role for me in 2019. I want to seek more opportunities. I’m still trying to figure out what career path I want to take, but I do know that it’s within the art industry. Whether that be styling, visual merchandising, or marketing, I want to take advantage of what the world has to offer!

LESS CELLPHONE TIME

Taking advantage of the universe, to me, also means embracing it. I have noticed that I use my phone the most while I’m eating, and that’s definitely going to change this year. Like, I want to savor my food and take in all its’ glory. It’s time to enjoy the moment and the people you’re with! Breaking this bad habit is also going to help with my communication and people skills, so good luck to me! It’s a win-win.

Okay, I know this is a complete cliche and everyone says this. But, Santa got me an iPad for Christmas, so I want to put it to good use. So far, I’ve been using it to draw and use social media, but it’s also perfect to use as an ebook! I’m going to aim to finish one book month. This kinda ties the whole self-love resolution together tbh. Reading is an amazing way to wind down and calm your anxieties. Personally, I love reading self-help books. If anyone has any recs, comment down below!

I really do believe that these resolutions are obtainable. Although it’s great that people challenge themselves with elaborate goals, I’m the type of girl that enjoys life’s simplicity. I want to see the beauty in the little things.

Do you have any goals for 2019? I would love to hear what they are! Maybe you can give us some ideas!

Remember, this planet is yours. You can do absolutely anything you set your mind to. Think of the new year as a new book with blank pages. You are the author of your own life. Write your happy ending, and make it come true. Happy new year, beauties. I wish you all a year of good health and happiness. ♡
