After many attempts of trying to master the perfect smokey eye (and basically burning off my eyelids), I’ve realized that I just don’t have the patience to do a glam makeup look. My go-to makeup look has more of an everyday, natural feel, with minimum products.
Después de muchos intentos de tener un “smokey eye” perfecto (y por casi quemarme el ojo por tanta sombra), me di cuenta que no tenga la paciencia para hacer un look glam. Yo prefiero usar poco maquillaje por un look más natural.
Now, with my best friend being a beauty Youtuber… let’s just say she doesn’t approve of my nonexistent makeup collection. Whenever I have an event, I immediately call Jackie over to help me do my makeup! I have acne around my chin/jaw line, so all I really care about is covering up my imperfections- which is why I prefer to invest in a few good products that I know work for my dry skin, and will last me throughout the day.
Mi mejor amiga es una Youtuber de maquillaje y digamos que no aprueba de mi coleccion minima de maquillaje. Siempre que voy a ir a un evento, inmediatamente le marcó a Jackie para que me ayude con mi maquillaje! Tengo acné alrededor de mi mandibula, asi que lo unica que me importa es cubrir mis imperfecciones. Por eso prefiero invertir en pocos productos buenos que funcionan con mi piel seca y me duran todo el dia.
With all that being said, let me say that even if I say these products work for me, that doesn’t mean it works for everyone. Taking care of your skin is the most important step of your beauty routine, so my biggest tip is to MOISTURIZE. This can totally make or break a product, so please… do your skin a favor and start lathering up that lotion on your face ladies.
Solo porque estos productos me funcionan a mi no significa que les van a funcionar a todos. Cuidar de tu piel es el paso más importante en tu rutina de belleza, así que mi mejor consejo es que se pongan crema. Esto puede ser la diferencia entre un producto que les funcione y uno que no asi que haganle un favor a su piel y empiezan a ponerse crema en la cara.
Jackie has taught me a lot about how technique is everything. Here’s some tips she pointed out to me while helping me with this look:
Jackie me a enseñado que la técnica es todo. Aquí están unos consejos que menciono cuando me estaba ayudando con este look:
- Foundation: Start on the outer edges of face and blend inwards to avoid cakeyness. Do not apply foundation in the middle of your face! Empieza alrededor de tu cara y poco a poco, ir difuminando tu base al centro de tu cara. Esto te ayuda a evitar ese “cakey” look que nadie quiere. No apliques la base al centro de tu cara, si no vas a ser un cake face!
- Setting Powder: Use a big powder brush for face and a smaller packing brush to lightly powder under the eyes to set concealer. Use un broche grande para toda la cara y un broche chiquito para aplicar el polvo abajo de los ojos. Así puedes asegurarte que tu corrector no se mueva durante el dia.
- Blend bronzer to the ear & into hairline to avoid harsh lines. Touch up with a makeup sponge. Difumina el bronceador hacia tus oídos y a tu linea de pelo para asegurarte que no haya líneas obvias. Dale un extra toque con tu beauty blender para difuminar mas.
- Highlighter: Don’t go too crazy with highlighter. Only apply to the areas of your face you want to brighten (i.e. cheekbones, nose, upper lip). The point of this product is to help heighten your features! No te vayas a poner loca con el iluminador! Solo aplicalo en las áreas de tu cara donde quieres que brilla.
